Hi
I’m Arul. Just joined a chemical company as a fresh graduate trainee. I was placed in the acid neutralisation department, which deal with pressure filters. Can anyone help on where to start on understanding the pressure filter operation? The details of the pressure filter given below
Filter Type: Overhanging plates
Press Manufacture: Ritterhaus & Blecher
Press Model: AEHIS 1500 x 2000
Operation: Gypsum Separation

Arul,
It is impossible to go into details in a forum so to better understand the performance of pressure filters I suggest that you read through the books:
1. Solid Liquid Separation by L. Svarovsky, Butterworths Publishing.
2. Solid Liquid Separation Equipment Scale-Up by D. Purchas, Upland Press Publishing.

I think the scope of your work is more on chemicals.
So just take good care of yourself and sorry to say that i have no idea about such filtration.
